🎢 First Time at California Adventure
This was my very first time exploring Disney California Adventure, and I loved it! Pixar Pier brought so much fun energy, and the park felt spacious and easy to navigate compared to Disneyland Park.

🎠 A Timeless Ride on the Carousel
I captured a short video of the King Arthur Carrousel in Fantasyland, one of Disneyland’s most charming classics. There’s something special about slowing down and enjoying the magic that’s been delighting guests for decades.

🌞 Navigating Crowds with Lightning Lane
July means big crowds — but Lightning Lane saved the day. We focused only on rides available through the pass, which helped us avoid the longest waits. While it limited how many rides we could do, it kept the day manageable and enjoyable.
✨ Tip: If you’re visiting during peak season, Genie+ and Lightning Lane are well worth the investment.
💺 Finding a Place to Rest
One thing I noticed this trip: California Adventure and Downtown Disney offer more seating areas than Disneyland Park. For families, older travelers, or anyone needing a break, this makes a huge difference. I even rented a scooter, which was a very smooth experience — something I’ll share more about in a separate blog soon.
🎡 Attractions We Enjoyed
Even with the crowds, we still experienced some Disney favorites:
Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin
Monster’s Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue
Haunted Mansion
It’s a Small World (beautifully updated and still one of my favorites)
Autopia
A ride around the park on the Disneyland Railroad 🚂 (a relaxing way to see the park!)

🍍 A Tasty Treat: Dole Whip
No Disney trip is complete without a Dole Whip! We enjoyed ours near the Tiki Room, and it was just as refreshing and delicious as ever.

🎆 Evening Entertainment: Fantasmic
Although I didn’t capture good photos, I have to say Fantasmic was a highlight of the trip. The music, the special effects, and the storytelling make it one of the most magical shows Disney has ever created.
🍴 Dining Highlights
We had the chance to dine at several great spots during our visit:
Earl of Sandwich (quick and satisfying)
Carthay Circle Restaurant (elegant dining inside California Adventure)
Lamplight Lounge (great food with Pixar theming)
Cafe Orleans (classic Disneyland atmosphere)
Each had its own charm, and I’ll be sharing more about Disney dining in a future post.
🏨 Where We Stayed
We split our stay between the Holiday Inn at Disneyland and the Disneyland Hotel. Both had their advantages, and I’ll be writing a dedicated article soon comparing the two — including photos from inside the Disneyland Hotel!

✨ Final Thoughts
Even with the summer crowds and a few ride closures (Matterhorn, I missed you!), our July Disneyland trip was filled with fun, magic, and plenty of new experiences.
If you’re planning a Disneyland visit in 2025 or beyond, I’d love to help you design the perfect trip — from park strategies to hotel choices.
